RPK will offer customers commercial catalog prices for K-1 launch services. Payload integration
and mission-specific hardware are priced separately, based on specific payload and mission requirements.
All K-1 launch services are priced, contracted and performed on a commercial basis, and in accordance
with all applicable export regulations.
Mission Integration
Mission integration is priced separately, based on specific
customer and payload requirements. Typical mission integration activities
are shown in the K-1
Payload User’s Guide, Section 7 “Mission Management.”
Figure 7-2 “Typical Mission Schedule,” shown on Page 7-2,
lists an example schedule associated with these activities.
Mission-Specific Hardware
The K-1 vehicle can accommodate a variety of dispensers, adapters,
and separation systems depending on the payload requirements (priced
separately).
LEO Missions:
Conical adapters and clampband separation systems can be accommodated
for satellites on the K-1 in the Standard and Extended Payload Modules.
Payload-unique adapters (for single or multiple satellites) are also
possible. Adapters and separation systems for LEO missions may be
reused on subsequent K-1 flights of identical payloads. Minor refurbishment
of standard separation systems will be included in the integration
price for repeat missions.
Multiple Small Satellites Rideshare to LEO:
RPK’s approach to small satellite missions, using a reusable small satellite adapter
with corresponding separation system for each spacecraft, is described
in the technical paper, “Small
Satellite Missions on the K-1,” presented in October 2002 at
the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Houston, Texas.
Astrium Ltd. has designed a reusable Multiple Payload Adapter System
(MPAS) for the K-1, to deploy small satellites, either as secondary
payloads or as dedicated small satellite missions. Astrium’s
MPAS designs borrow heavily on the heritage of the Ariane Structure
for Auxiliary Payloads (ASAP) for the Ariane 4 and Ariane 5 and use
the same standard satellite interfaces. Adapters and separation systems
for LEO rideshare missions may be reused on subsequent K-1 flights
of identical payloads. Minor refurbishment of standard separation
systems will be included in the integration price for repeat missions.
Active Dispenser Missions:
The K-1 Active Dispenser can interface with a variety of expendable standard conical adapters and
standard separation systems, including 937 mm and 1194 mm clampbands.
Adapters and separation systems on Active Dispenser missions are expendable.
Recurring price will be included in the integration price for repeat
missions. |
